On 14th September we went to The Good Funeral Awards at The Eden Project in Cornwall. We were absolutely delighted to receive the Funeral Director of the Year 2024 award. It’s such an honour to be selected for this national award. We received nominations from families that we’ve supported in the past as well as people from he funeral sector. These nominations recognised not just the quality of our work as undertakers and ceremonialists but also the events that we put on around education, art and sound on the themes of grief and remembrance. So a big thank you to everyone that took the time to write something to the awards judges.
We really enjoyed connecting with like minded people at the awards ceremony. We hope to expand on this element next year with our own event around the theme of contemporary ritual and participatory events around grief and remembrance. This will be a collaborative and educational event held in Todmorden with academics, artists, ceremonialists and other funeral folk.
