Carol Whalley
Beloved Mum to Siân and Rachel, Granny to Katie, Alex, Maggie and Tove, Sister to Moira, Cousin to Heather, Auntie to David and Stephen and dear friend to many.
Join us as we say farewell to Carol who sadly died over the Burn’s night witching hour something we do feel she may have found appropriate given her Scottish heritage, love of a dram of malt and her passion for words and poetry. Carol was a woman of wit and wisdom, a sparky conversationalist, always interested in the people around her. She loved her family and friends, sharing her love of reading, cooking, walking, art, theatre and travel, pottering in her garden and her pets including Oscar, her last cat, who predeceased her by five days.
We feel incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives.
Carol’s funeral will be held at 11:00am on Monday the 23rd of February 2026 at Altrincham Crematorium
Mum’s wish was that people would wear bright colours in celebration of her life. Not everyone suits cerise quite as much as she did, so please wear whatever colours you feel best in!
Instead of flowers, where people wish to, please make a donation to 42nd Street an innovative Greater Manchester young people’s mental health charity.
From the crematorium we will move on to Sale Sports Club, Clarendon Crescent, M33 2DE. To celebrate mum in a style she has made us accustomed to over the years. Afternoon tea or coffee, sandwiches, scones and cake and perhaps a large gin! Thank you.
