John Richard Abbott
7th of Feb 1933 – 8th of June 2025
The Very Wonderful John Abbott. Known around Todmorden for his Father Christmas-like appearance and friendly nature, John was originally from the East End of London but settled in Tod with local girl Fran Healey. He became Dad to her two children Rose and Emma, and they had three more – Jay, Daisy, and Clover. Inspirational father to the first five, he was also a kind grandad to Angus, Sophie, Calix, Delta, Kira, Wilf, Tesla, Tom, and Rowan, and great-granddad to Josh. John will be greatly missed by all.
John’s funeral will be held at 13:00 on Friday the 27th of June 2025 at Natural Endings, Todmorden.

Please come dressed in whatever makes you feel most comfortable, whether that’s sombre, rainbows, or covered in Vincent grease.
No flowers please.
After the ceremony there will be a reception in the hall, where we’ll share more memories and we invite you to think of your best John story to share. There will be tea, cake, and nibbles.
Natural Endings is next to the train station, with train connections between Manchester and Leeds. There is parking available in Todmorden town centre, for a small hourly fee. There is a small amount of parking on our grounds which will mainly be reserved for anyone with limited mobility. Please contact us if you would like to reserve one of these spaces.
