Julie, also known as Jools to many, was an incredible courageous, brave and creative adventurer. Being unapologetically herself Julie lived a remarkable life, including that of feminist, activist, carpenter, historian, teacher and artist.

Julie’s funeral will be held at 11:30 on Thursday the 12th of December at Natural Endings, Todmorden.

Please be mindful there is limited capacity at the funeral venue. So we kindly ask to keep attendance to those who knew and loved Julie well.

There will be a memorial service held for Julie at Wainsgate Chapel in May 2025, when they reopen after renovation works.

Julie would have loved you to wear whatever you feel the most yourself in.

You are invited to write a message for Julie which can be attached to the coffin. There will be materials provided on the day, or you may like to bring this.

Please don’t buy flowers, find something in nature, bring a flower, a twig, maybe a pebble from your garden or from a walk.

Donations, in memory of Julie, will be invited to go Wainsgate Chapel.

Please join us for a wake at Wadsworth Community Centre 1.30 onwards.

There isn’t a lot of parking space at Natural Endings please let us know if you have limited mobility and we’ll reserve a space for you. We are situated directly below the train station for those who are travelling by train. There are a couple of small car parks around Todmorden where you pay a small fee. Please leave some extra time to find a space and to walk to the ceremony space.
