Description
Shrouds with a stretcher are an alternative to a coffin, they are made from sustainable resources, and are entirely bio-degradable. You could choose to decorate a shroud with embroidery or natural paints.
In almost all cases, the crematorium or burial site will require a stretcher. This is for practical reasons.
The price shown above, £350, includes both the cotton shroud and the willow stretcher.
It is also possible to purchase the stretcher on it’s own for £250, in case you would like to provide/make your own shroud.
The shroud and stretcher are both suitable for cremation and tested by the FFMA.
Please note
- The willow lid pictured in the shroud photograph is not part of the shroud.
- We only provide this shroud as part of a funeral that you’re arranging with Natural Endings.
- Not all crematoria and burial grounds accept a shroud and stretcher, some will only accept a coffin.
- We do not sell shrouds for national delivery

Will you send me a receipt?
We will send you a receipt that can be claimed with the rest of the funeral expenses from the person who has died’s estate at a later date.
Do I need a nameplate?
Cemeteries and crematoriums require that the coffin is identified with a nameplate. We can provide a nameplate or you could make one yourself. We can give you ideas if you’d like to make one yourself. A nameplate needs the following details on it: one person’s legal name, date of birth and date of death.
