We’re in the heart of Todmorden in the Former Mail Sorting Office on Rise Lane. As well as being a funeral home we can also offer a beautiful ceremony space for your loved one’s funeral service.
We’re a small, ethical, green funeral service supporting families and community around Todmorden. We’re Funeral Director of the Year 2024, which is a national recognition from The Good Funeral Awards. Natural Endings is an independent female-led company with over twenty-five years’ experience between us.
We provide a very personal service includes taking time to gain an understanding of you and your family’s values and beliefs and what is important to you. We provide female-led care for your loved one.
You might want a funeral that is eco, modern, traditional or totally unique. You may even want a cremation that no one attends and then you have a gathering / celebration at a later date. We work closely with you and can either fulfil your ideas or offer appropriate suggestions for creating a funeral that reflects the person who has died’s unique personality.
We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week all year to support you if you’re in the sad situation of having had a bereavement.
Established in 2008, Rosie and Lisa have 24 years’ experience working in funerals. We’re an independent company recognized for our experience arranging green funerals and woodland burials. We also arrange cremations at Burnley Crematorium, Rochdale Crematorium, Park Wood Crematorium, Oakworth Crematorium and beyond. We can make arrangements with crematoriums, cemeteries, places of worship, ministers and celebrants that you’re familiar with.
Or once we know a bit about you and your family, we can make other suggestions based on our local knowledge. If the crematorium doesn’t feel like the right venue to say goodbye, then your loved one’s funeral service can be held in our ceremony space in Todmorden. You can gather and reflect on your loved one’s life for as long as you need.
Or you might have family connections with the Fielden Centre, Unitarian Church or the Hippodrome in Todmorden where you can have religious or non-religious services.
Alternatively you might want to keep things simple with a service in a local crematorium or even have an unattended cremation.
We are recognised for our knowledge of woodland burial and are founder members of Association of Green Funeral Directors. But we also have a full knowledge of some of the traditional cemeteries in the valley so can also give information about some nice rural ones that still have grave spaces available.
Our funeral home is a peaceful space to visit. But we also understand that you might feel more comfortable having us visit you at home to talk to you about funeral arrangements.
We have found that since we started in 2008 that families are willing to travel a little further to work with a funeral director that they feel is a good fit and takes time to understand their needs.
We are a recommended funeral director by the Natural Death Centre and the Good Funeral Guide.
We provide a full funeral service including arranging and conducting the funeral.
We can provide a traditional or alternatively themed funeral, and are experts in environmentally friendly funerals and woodland burials.
We work with many different religious and non-religious funeral leaders. Alternatively we can support you to lead the service yourselves.
We provide a large selection of coffins including traditional caskets, biodegradable eco-coffins, and decorative coffins.
Your choice of funeral transport including traditional black hearse and limousines, (black or white) horse drawn hearse, silver hearse and limousines, VW Beetle Hearse, motorbike hearses, vintage hearses, and even a vintage lorry.
We offer many different options but want to keep choices and costs easy to understand.
We consider our costs very reasonable compared to many other funeral services. We are transparent about our pricing. A funeral is tailored to your needs so that you aren’t paying for a ‘package’ that has items that you don’t need in it. In order to make pricing understandable we show some ‘example funerals’ at the end of this downloadable price list.
As well as hosting funerals and memorials in our space in Todmorden we also host some therapeutic activities for bereaved people. We also host other creative activities like art exhibitions, talks and workshops.
Our hall is also for hire for trainings, rehearsals, quiet gatherings and community events.
We work with local charity Forus Tree (natural flood management) and donate towards local tree planting in order to offset the carbon foot print of each funeral that we arrange.
